Journal of Persian Literature

The Journal of Persian Literature is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published biannually by the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, University of Tehran. It is dedicated to the field of literary studies.

The Persian language and literature, like tempered steel, have withstood numerous trials over the centuries within this land, standing firm and proudly retaining their luster. Despite frequent invasions from both the East and the West, the sweet Persian language not only endured but also underwent a profound transformation by borrowing from foreign tongues, thereby accelerating its own development. Like a living entity, it has continued to captivate and enchant people to this day, leading to the establishment of numerous academic chairs internationally and inspiring a multitude of publications across the globe.

As one of the primary pillars supporting the Persian language, the University of Tehran strives to take a significant step in advancing and promoting Persian literature. A primary objective of this journal is to examine the evolution, influence, and expansion of the Persian language in Iran and other Persian-speaking regions, with a strong emphasis on a research-oriented framework. This journal aims to publish scholarly, research-based articles that make a significant contribution to the dynamism and further development of this field. This is because Persian language and literature constitute one of the richest treasures of human civilization. The antiquity of the Iranian peoples, the richness of their culture and literature, the diversity of sub-cultures, and the geographic dispersion of its ethnic groups have all been reinforcing factors, enabling this language to preserve its cultural wealth for many years to come.

To this end, the Journal of Persian Literature is committed to publishing numerous articles that play a significant role in the vitality and flourishing of the field in the following areas.
